Jason Boness Rounds out XO’s 8 Olympic Trials qualifiers On the last day to put up a qualifing mark for the USA track and field Olympic Trials, drama was delivered once again at historic Hayward Field. “I wasn’t even going to jump,” Team XO’s Jason Boness stated, “I just came to help out Kyley (Johnson). He convinced me to get my shoes and come out and jump. I did, and I am so glad I did.” Boness was coming of a groin injury suffered at the Pacific Club Championships a few weeks ago in Seattle, Washington. Not wanting to intensify the injury Boness jumped with a shortened approach, and cleared a height of 2.22m (7’ 3.25”) on a second attempt, two centimeters over the Olympic Trials B standard. “What can I say, it was just one of those days where you feel good, and that’s when great things can happen.” This will be Boness’ second consecutive Olympic Trials appearance. With that mark, he is currently ranked 14th in the country, and becomes the eighth Team XO Olympic Trials Qualifier. In other all-comer action Kyley finish second in the High Jump (6-11), with Colin McArthur and newcomer Aaron Lamb jumped in the long jump and finish first and second with marks of 23-4 and 21-8. Most of the team members are currently resting up for the Olympic Trials set in two weeks (July 9th-18th). Team XO’s Director, Ross Krempley said, “I am very pleased with our Olympic Trials turn out this year, it really shows how far this team has come in two years. We are all extremely excited about this year’s trials, and can’t wait for it to get started.” Team XO's 8 Olympic Trials Qualifiers
